What these terms cover
These terms are an agreement between you and Expedition Labs, the software studio in Los Angeles, California that runs Meeting Mouse. They apply when you use the hosted Meeting Mouse app for Slack at app.meetingmouse.net, and when you use this website. By using either one you accept these terms. If you add the app for an organization, you accept them for that organization.
Meeting Mouse is also open-source software. If you run your own copy, the license in its repository governs that copy, you are responsible for it, and these terms do not apply to it.
Using Meeting Mouse
Meeting Mouse is added to a Slack workspace by someone with permission to install apps there. That person confirms they have the authority to add it for the workspace. Your use of Slack itself stays subject to your agreement with Slack.
The hosted app is free while it is in beta. A workspace can have 10 polls open at once. We may change the price or the limits later, and we will post the change on this website before it takes effect.
Acceptable use
When you use the app or this website, you agree to the following.
- Use them only in ways the law allows.
- Leave their security alone. Do not probe, scan or overload them, and do not try to reach data that belongs to another workspace.
- Do not use the app to send spam, malware or content that harasses or harms others.
- Do not resell the hosted app or present it as your own.
If you find a security problem, report it privately as the vulnerability disclosure program describes, so we can fix it before it is disclosed.
Your data
What you put into the app stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it for one purpose, which is running the app for your workspace. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train any machine-learning model.
The privacy policy and the data retention, data archival and removal, and data storage policies say what is kept, where, for how long, and how it is deleted. The data deletion request procedure says how to ask us to delete it. They are part of these terms.
This website
The website and its blog are free to read. What we publish there is general information, offered without a promise that it suits your situation. Our name, logo and site design remain ours.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the app running, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, pause or retire a feature or the hosted app. If we retire the hosted app we will give notice on this website first, and stored data is deleted as the removal policy describes.
Ending use
You can stop at any time. Removing the app from your Slack workspace ends your use and deletes what the app stored for that workspace. We may suspend or end access for a workspace or a person who breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.
Disclaimer
The app and this website are provided as they are and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about them, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Expedition Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, that arise from your use of the app or this website. Our total liability for any claim under these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.
Some places do not allow some of these limits. In those places the limits apply only as far as the law permits.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and we consent to those courts.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we post the new text on this page with a new date. If you keep using the app after that date, you accept the new terms.
